Military, camp caps, or better known as 5-panel caps have been a staple headwear piece here in NYC since before the fitted surge to popularity in the mid 90’s. Back then brands such as Polo, Eddie Bauer, EMS, North Face, LL Bean, & others were offering this piece in all colors & fabrics. Now in full effect, the 5-panel has become a staple for many brands such as Supreme, 10 Deep, Stussy, Futura Labs, & others.
Below is two exclusive 5-panel caps from the famous wholesaler New York Hat Company. First up is the tan, thick corduroy & charcoal heavy wool version. Both caps come with the standard detailing of mesh vent eyelets, visor edge binding & back adjustable straps. Other features on both caps are black undervisors, sweatbands, & inside linings. Available through New York Hat Co. e-tailers & hopefully a re-stock at Onspotz.com.

The Goorin Bros. Core line is a selection of headwear that brings classic, vintage details mixed with contemporary styling. Below is one of the flat brim fitted caps from their core selection. Dubbed the Memoirs cap, this style mixes fabric & application on the entire top crown. The front panel features a custom Geisha graphic that is layered with metallic print & embroidery. The rest of the cap panels are made of geometric shapes printed on cotton or embroidered straight onto the fabric. The Memoirs cap is not a recent release but definitely a strong edition featured here for its detail & balance of fabric & color. Available now through Goorin online.
