Custom California Seals Snapback Cap by Attica Jailhouse Ballcaps

It's been a minute since we showcased some Attica Jailhouse Ballcaps but we're back with one of AJ's most recent piece representing the California Seals, also known as the Golden Seals. The team operated as part of the NHL league from 1967 - 1976 in California's Bay area. Today, the San Jose Sharks carry on hockey tradition in northern California. For this tribute, AJ brings out his unique felt patches, stitched on a deadstock 80's, 2-tone snapback. The crown is black and highlighted in kelly green for button, eyelets, and top visor. Inside Label: 2004 Chicago Stadium / Blackhawks "Remember The Roar" Snapback Cap

In 1926, Col. Frederic McLaughlin was granted permission by the NHL to establish an expansion franchise within the city bounds of Chicago. The team was named the Blackhawks, a tribute to the army battalion in which McLaughlin served. The Black Hawks rounded off the Original Six hockey clubs.
Chicago Stadium was one of six barn yard style arenas in which hockey action was played out. “The Madhouse on Madison,” opened its gates on March 28, 1929. The seating capacity rose just above the 17,000 mark. The small seating mark allowed the fans to become personal to the fast paced action of the Canadian past time, as well as the beloved players in which the fans so passionately followed. In 1967, the year in which the NHL began to expand, the NBA Chicago Bulls joined the Black Hawks as tenants of the historic Chicago Stadium. They both would remain strong to the end of the 1994 season, before both clubs moved across the street to the United Center.
In 1994, the NHL dissolved two of the original six barn yard style stadiums. The Leafs sadly parted from Maple Leafs Garden, an arena which owned a large majority of hockey history. The Chicago Blackhawks fought their way into the playoffs to keep the roar of Chicago Stadium going as long as they could.
Yupoong constructed this piece in honor of the Blackhawks and their contribution to hockey history inside the legendary Chicago Stadium. Yupoong created this cap by using a white, poly-cotton blend. The brim is in black fabric as the under visor is in a traditional green. The front two panels feature an image of Chicago Stadium resting behind the timeless Blackhawks logo. The logo is outlined in red embroidered thread with Chicago Stadium balancing the top and bottom of the circle. Riding across the front of the logo is a gold threaded banner which is outlined in black stitch. The banner dates the hockey palace, honoring the history of an original franchise and the history within the echoes of Chicago Stadium. The cap was created in a snapback style. Arched across the back of the cap is the famous phrase “Remember the Roar.” The team logo is embroidered in black thread as are the eyelets and button top. Chicago Stadium will forever be remembered as one of the palaces within the sporting world. Its historic stance captured the memories of both the Bulls of the NBA and the Original Six member, Blackhawks.

Inside Label: Tim McAuliffe, Sandy Koufax Brooklyn Dodgers Unique Mesh Fitted Cap

On October 4, 1955, the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees in the seventh game of the World Series. It would be the first and only World Series title seen by the Dodger faithful within the Brooklyn borrows. The memorable season penned by the Brooklyn Dodgers overshadowed the importance of the youthful potential of Sandy Koufax, the Dodgers left handed throwing bonus baby. A Brooklyn native and a college student, Sandy Koufax inked his first professional contract at the age of eighteen. Koufax would win two games for the 1955 Dodgers but his dominance within the game would begin during his years in Los Angeles.

The Dodgers moved to Los Angeles after the 1957 season. Koufax would help the Dodgers win the 1959 World Series as they played their home games at the Los Angeles Coliseum. As baseball moved through the expansion decade, Koufax dominated the National League by throwing four perfect games in the span of four seasons. The last of his no-hitters was a perfect game.

Koufax’s presence within the game of baseball also served as an influence within the social binds of America. Koufax, who is of the Jewish faith, elected not to pitch the first game of the 1965 World Series due to it falling on Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year for those of the Jewish belief. Despite his absence in game one, Koufax pitched a three hit shutout in game seven on just two days rest. His gutsy performance helped the Dodgers win the World Series. It would be the fourth and final World Series title won by Koufax.

In 1966, Koufax won 27 games and helped the Dodgers win the pennant. However, it would be the constant pain in his arm that would cause him to retire after the 1966 season at the age of 30. Five years later Koufax would be enshrined into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

This uniquely styled royal mesh fitted hat was worn by Sandy Koufax at the beginning of his career with the Brooklyn Dodgers. The hat was constructed by Boston's Tim McAuliffe Cap Company, whose tag is stitched into the headband. The stylized Brooklyn B crosses the front two panels of the hat. The white threaded B is directly embroidered onto the mesh material. The under-visor is lined in green cloth. Koufax’s retired number 32 is etched in black ink atop the green cloth. A royal covered metal button rests at the top of the crown. This rare, historical piece is currently being auctioned off by Robert Edwards Auctions.

Inside Label: 1988 Kansas University New Era Cap

In 1891, James Naismith formulated the rules to the game of basketball. He used the game as an athletic distraction, producing an active environment for his students during the cold New England winter. Naismith knotted two peach baskets on opposing sides of one another, both which served as a target for a soaring soccer ball. Several years later, in 1898, Naismith expanded the game to the Midwest by establishing the basketball program at Kansas University. Naismith would oversee the program through the end of the 1907 season.
The basketball program at Kansas University has taken the NCAA Tournament crown three times. The great Wilt Chamberlain situated his 7’1” frame under the net on the Kansas hardwood. The sharp shooting, Kansas bred, Danny Manning exploded onto the collegiate scene while in a Jayhawks uniform. The pin point, pressure packed miracle shot of Mario Chalmers helped the Jayhawks capture their most recent title in 2008. The history of the game of basketball has embraced the Kansas program, hoisting it as one of the nation’s top programs. The waves of March Madness have begun to take stride with the Kansas Jayhawks seeking out their fourth NCAA title.
This royal wool, New Era made cap serves as a celebration of the history of the Kansas University basketball program. It is a six panel cap with royal eyelits and a white capped button. On the front two panels, in white embroidered thread, sits the acronym of Kansas University. The under brim is grey while the inside crown is trimmed in a white cotton band. The old style New Era label sits within the inside back of the cap. This cap can be dated to the second National Title recorded by Kansas in 1988.
